Come and discover our town and the surroundings! Not only wellness, but also culture and events, museums, theatre. A few kilometres from the hotel you can find the “castles of salt” including the castles of Scipione, Bargone, Tabiano, Contignaco, the old salt mines, the church of S.Nicomede, the Romanesque church of S. Giovanni in Contignaco, the interesting Gavinell botanical and medicinal herbs garden, and the Golf and Country Club.

Salsomaggiore’s surroundings also offer many opportunities of excursions for recreational, sports, shopping experience, artistic, historical and cultural tours.
As well as pleasant walks in the green parks of Salsomaggiore and the wide pedestrian area in the town centre, you can enjoy a pleasant tour on foot or by bike across our lovely hills along various types of trails, degrees of difficulty.
You can also venture onto fit walking and panoramic cycling routes with instructors and guides on request. Discover also prehistory and visit “The ancient sea” palaeontology museum and the Stirone regional river park in Salsomaggiore.
A few kilometres far away you can also visit the birthplace of Giuseppe Verdi, Busseto; and Parma, the art town where you can admire frescoes by Correggio and Parmigianino, the Reggia di Colorno and the Magnani Rocca Foundation which hosts prestigious art collections and exhibitions.

The area around Parma and Piacenza is full of castles and fortresses, the famous and well-preserved Castles of the Ducato (‘Duchy’), including: the fortresses of Fontanellato and Soragna, featuring frescoes by Parmigianino, the S. Secondo and Bardi fortresses, the Compiano Castle, the Torrechiara Castle (whose beauty has attracted filmmakers from all over the world), the fortress of Castell’Arquato, the castles of Rivalta, Vigoleno, Gropparello; and then Grazzano Visconti, a typical medieval village, Veleia Romana, an ancient Roman town revealed by archaeological excavations and the Abbey of Chiaravalle della Colomba. And finally Franco Maria Ricci’s Labyrinth della Masone, completely made of bamboo with a prestigious art gallery inside and Fidenza with its Romanesque cathedral, one of the most beautiful ones in Italy, and the Fidenza Village shopping centre.
